My first recommendation is to wear what you feel comfortable and confident in. When you feel good, you’ll naturally be more relaxed on camera. Most of the time we will only see you from the waist up for interviews, so you usually don’t have to worry about pants or shoes.
Second, stick to solid colors or simple patterns. You might choose a color that matches one of your brand colors, or a bright shade that pops. If the tone of your video is more serious, black or navy is a great choice.
Third, avoid busy patterns. They might look great in person, but the camera doesn’t like them. Also avoid distracting images or logos that aren’t connected to your organization because we don’t want anything pulling attention away from your message.
And when it comes to jewelry, be sure you don’t wear anything that might make noise or rub up against a microphone. You can always bring a couple different options to try out if you’d like. That goes for outfits too. Feel free to send me pictures ahead of time so I can help you decide.
Our main goal is for you to look good and represent your organization well, so your audience can focus fully on your story.

B-roll is simply the extra footage that shows your story in action. Without it, you’d only have talking heads, which can quickly lose an audience’s attention. With B-roll, you’re able to show your impact instead of just talking about it.
I like to think of B-roll as action shots. It works best when something is happening such as people interacting, kids smiling, volunteers pitching in, a team celebrating. Those moments bring your mission to life and help viewers connect emotionally.
B-roll can also include drone footage or exterior shots. Those give your audience the context and the atmosphere around your story. But the most powerful B-roll almost always comes back to people..

Absolutely. Part of our strategic approach is creating videos that work across multiple platforms. We can create shorter versions for social media, specific cuts for presentations, and different versions for different audiences.

We travel throughout the Midwest and can work with nonprofits nationally depending on the project. Many of our strategic planning conversations happen virtually, and we’re experienced at coordinating remote filming when needed.

Investment varies based on your specific needs and goals, but we work with nonprofits of all sizes to create videos that fit their budgets. During our initial conversation, we'll discuss your goals and I'll provide options that make sense for your organization. I also offer flexible payment plans because I understand nonprofit budget cycles.
